It is with sadness that Allan McPherson reports the passing of Tony Richardson who passed away last Friday at his home in Tuncurry after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer just 1 month ago.
Tony began his career at OTC in the Accounts Branch which was interrupted by National Service where he served in Malaysia in the peace keeping force. He returned to Accounts and forged a career in many various positions before advancing to the Engineering Branch as the Accounts Administrator.
Upon leaving OTC he went into business with his brother doing kitchen renovations and had a stint running a small golf club at Milperra.
Tony loved sport. Tony, Allan and many other OTC staff played in the OTC cricket team on Saturday mornings at Moore Park. They were lucky enough to win a premiership and took delight in beating OTC Melbourne at the yearly Wagga weekends. He also loved his golf and was a staunch Canterbury Bulldogs supporter. Allan, Mick Wilden, Bob Dean, Keith Suzuki, Peter McInnes, Keith McCredden still get together every year for a fishing trip which they have been attending since their OTC days, some 40 odd years.
Tony is survived by wife Colleen, daughters Cindy, Jody and Kelly and their families.
