It is with great sadness that I pass on news from Barry Stockbridge that Noel passed away today.
Noel was a big man and he had been suffering from dementia for at least the last 12 months. His wife, Marion, had been unable to look after him so he moved to a Nursing Home in Old Bar near Taree in NSW and it was from there that he passed away this morning.
Details of the funeral service for Noel will be passed on when they are made known to us.
May He Rest In Peace.

Many fond memories working alongside Barry Stockbridge/Bill Darby and Noel Martin back in the good old days.
Noel was a great mentor and will be sadly missed.

I am sorry to hear of Noel’s passing.
He was a really nice guy who was very kind and supportive when I was a young trainee
Dementia is a shocking disease and it is an awful way to go especially for the family

Well that’s a bugger. He was my boss for a long time in Engineering. I met him a few years after his retirement on a train with his wife and I could tell something was wrong then – back in the late 90s. I think he was one of those people who lived for work, and once he no longer had that didn’t know what to do with himself. I knew they used to live where I am now near Hornsby, but had the Old Bar place as well.
Hope Barry is doing OK.
